The Connecticut Regent’s Q1 Letter to the Membership

February 25, 2020

Greetings,

As we near the end of February, I’m looking forward to ACHE’s 2020 Congress which will be held March 23-26 at the Hyatt Regency, Chicago.  As your Regent, Congress makes me ask the question, ” how spot on are we as healthcare leaders “?  The educational events at Congress allow us to learn about best practices, participate in lectures on new topics of interest so that we can become more adept in our roles and balance our learnings with time for networking with new and old acquaintances.

I’ll be attending Congress and look forward to the Parker B. Francis Distinguished Lecture at the opening session featuring Mick Ebeling, founder and CEO of Not Impossible Labs.  Mick’s premise of nothing is impossible is so fitting to the field of healthcare.  I’m looking forward to hearing Mick’s lecture on exploring the impossible to enable innovation in healthcare.  I’m hoping his keynote address will inspire us to think differently and shift us to be a bit in our uncomfortable zone.

Congratulations to CTAHE on winning the Chapter Award of Distinction for meeting ACHE’s membership satisfaction and educational networking standards. The chapter will receive the award at Congress at the Malcolm T. MacEachren luncheon.  The award is a reflection on the efforts of a great chapter board of directors and it’s committees that provide a wide variety of networking and educational opportunities within our state for our members, prospective member and students.

Another congratulations  shout out to Southern Connecticut State University for becoming a recent ACHE higher education network .  I am visiting Southern later this month and look forward to speaking with the students.

Speaking of being a spot on health care leader, if you are attending Congress, please join fellow CTAHE members at a member meet up reception on March 23rd at the Flight Club of Chicago where the game of darts has been reinvented for the 21st century. Who from the chapter will be spot on with the game of darts and prevail as the winner?  Speaking as a novice dart thrower,  come join in the fun and meet fellow chapter members.

Continue to check out the website for registration to the flight club event as well as other networking and educational offerings from CTAHE.

Wishing you also the excitement to see the emergence of signs of spring soon!

Warmly,

Denise J. Fiore

Regent for Connecticut

The Connecticut Association of Healthcare Executives

The Connecticut Association of Healthcare Executives (CTAHE) represents professionals who manage the business affairs of healthcare organizations throughout the state of Connecticut. No other professional association is more inclusive and essential for meeting the career needs and interests of healthcare executives in Connecticut as the healthcare industry transforms to value-based care.

Our CTAHE membership strives to be inclusive of all healthcare stakeholders spanning not only hospitals, health plans, health systems, and independent physician associations, but our universities that are educating our future healthcare administrators.

The Connecticut Association of Healthcare Executives (CTAHE) is a chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives, which you can read more about below.

The American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE)
