The women’s forum, a nonprofit association for the professional development of women in healthcare management, began in 1981. The purpose of the organization is to promote the growth of women in healthcare professions, foster mutual support, professional development, and provide educational and networking opportunities. In 2010, the group formally merged into the CT Association of Health Care Executives as a committee.
“The women’s forum is a dynamic group of professional leaders who genuinely care about issues and challenges we face in our industry. I have had the opportunity to collaborate with leaders in different industries through our events that have created invaluable networks for my career.” ~Tiffany Morrissey, Bristol Hospital
Our vision is to provide career growth for women in healthcare professions. We foster opportunities to interact with professional women’s networks that are established in other fields and encourage interrelationships. We provide information and education on healthcare related issues through educational programs and social networking.
In addition, we serve as a vehicle for strengthening a national network of women in healthcare administration through the American College of Healthcare Executives. Finally, we help develop a supportive and informational network for women students in the field of healthcare administration and related graduate educational disciplines, and issue scholarships to support their efforts.
The CTAHE Women’s Forum will be offering monthly virtual Lunch & Learn sessions. Each session will be a guided discussion on a featured topic, led by Co-Directors Susan Prior and Julie Vigil.
