A Message from the CTAHE Board of Directors

June 5, 2020

To our Connecticut healthcare community,

Diversity, coupled with an open and affirming culture that invites the inclusion of all peoples, leads to an organization that transcends to achieve greatness.

The Connecticut Association of Healthcare Executives stands by our commitment to promote diversity and build inclusive organizations. Your local chapter understands this is a journey that looks to assist leaders in creating opportunities to promote, celebrate, and protect people of diverse backgrounds. The impact of the COVID pandemic has spawned a new normal, which has shone a light on the health disparities in our most vulnerable communities.

Now more than ever, CTAHE remains steadfast in our commitment to sponsor programming that brings us together to address inequities in our health systems starting from the top. In the past year we have sponsored experts who help leaders attract and foster greater diversity in healthcare organizations. Our Diversity and Inclusion committee seeks to develop and share strategies to help leaders build inclusive organizations that thrive. Our attention to helping our communities find their voice to be heard is vital to the success of healthcare.

As leaders we must create and improve systems that remove barriers to healthcare for our most at-risk people in the communities we serve. The costs of this pandemic have been significant, but we are committed to supporting healthcare leaders to ever improve our organizations to be more diverse and more inclusive – only together can we achieve greatness for all who need to access healthcare.

CTAHE is seeking increased participation in our Diversity and Inclusion Committee so that we can continue to evolve our actionable steps in addressing our Chapter’s diversity and programming. Please reach out to administrator@ctahe.org for more information.
In solidarity,
Kimberly A. Lumia, CTAHE President
Michael A. Novak, CTAHE Vice President
Gregory Murphy, CTAHE Diversity and Inclusion Chair
on behalf of the CTAHE Board of Directors
