Message from your ACHE Regent
Fall 2025
Dear Connecticut ACHE Colleagues,
As the crisp fall air brings upon us a new season, I find myself reflecting with gratitude, optimism, and admiration for all that our CTAHE community has accomplished and all that lies ahead.
Just a few weeks ago, CTAHE once again demonstrated incredible energy and purpose at the Breakfast with Leaders event held at the Connecticut Hospital Association and hosted by BRG. The engaging discussion on how to manage impacts of the One Big, Beautiful Bill Act brought together some of our region’s brightest minds to explore how policy continues to shape our work and the delivery of care. The conversations during the fireside chat moderated between Brian Fisher of BRG and Pamela Sutton- Wallace were insightful while the panel with Susan Halpin, Deb Polun, and Paul Kidwell was candid and inspiring. As I write this message, we have the end of the government shutdown on our heels which will undoubtedly change things again, so don’t forget to join us on January 27, 2026, as we kickoff the New Year and hear the latest update during the CTAHE State of the State of Connecticut Healthcare cosponsored with CHA.
We know today’s healthcare landscape is not for the faint of heart. We continue to face complex challenges across the industry. From workforce shortages to shifting reimbursement models and a rising demand for innovative solutions, we are challenged to rethink how we lead, support our teams, and deliver care with compassion and excellence. When I talk to members across our chapter and nationally throughout our 50,000+ strong ACHE community, I’m encouraged by the shared optimism that healthcare will continue to evolve and that our collective resilience will keep us steadfast in serving our patients and communities.
ACHE and CTAHE offers more than connection, our professional association offers career growth, leadership development, a strong peer network, and most importantly life-long friendships. No matter where you are in your career, your membership benefits open doors to growth, collaboration and ultimately offer you the chance to make a real impact on healthcare in our community. The greatest gift you can give this holiday season is the referral to a friend or loved one to join ACHE and CTAHE.
I am especially proud of the CTAHE Board of Directors, who recently came together for a strategic planning retreat focused on one goal: driving even greater value for our members. Among the many initiatives, the Board continues to invest time and resources into the Physician Advisory Committee led by Chris Bauer, MD, and Amanda Ayers, MD, the Health Equity Alliance (HEAL) Committee spearheaded by Janaya Hernandez, DSL, and Greg Murphy, FACHE, and the development of the newly announced Events and Logistics Committee co-chaired by Montana Passero and Kim Lumia, RN, FACHE. There are endless opportunities to become engaged with the chapter! I strongly encourage you to visit us online for more information on all of our committees and the many engaging upcoming events.
Similarly, ACHE continues to invest in its membership. The newly branded ACHE Learn Publications (formerly Health Administration Press) has an excellent array of digital books, classroom resources, and executive publications. CTAHE is working closely with ACHE to develop a new CTAHE website, making information more accessible and easier to navigate. The ACHE team is also hard at work coordinating logistics for the 2026 Congress on Healthcare Leadership, being held in Houston, Texas, March 2–4. I look forward to seeing many of you there as we get together with more than 7,000 leaders from the healthcare community. Register today!!
A heartfelt thank-you to ACHE’s Premier Corporate Sponsors, whose support helps ACHE continue to move the needle on our strategic plan to better serve you: Core Clinical Partners, Exact Sciences, Genentech, GSK, Intuitive, JLL Healthcare, LeanTaaS, Quest Diagnostics, RLDatix, and Sanofi.
I ended my last message with a call to action to get involved, become engaged, and invest in your personal and professional development, whether within your own organization or with your professional association. This season, I want to end with extending my sincerest appreciation to each and every one of you. I am deeply thankful to serve such a dedicated and inspiring group of healthcare professionals. Your leadership instills hope in me and gives me energy to continue pouring myself into service.
Wishing you all a wonderful fall season filled with reflection, renewal, gratitude, and continued growth!
